Here are Stu’s questions:

1. What present did you always want as a child and never received?
A pony

1. What present did you always want as a child and never received?
     A horse

2. What are your top 5 Christmas movies?
     1. A Christmas Carol
     2. Elf
     3. The Polar Express
     4. A Charlie Brown Christmas
     5. Rudolph, Frosty, the Grinch….

3. Out of all the Christmas songs, which one makes you truly joyful?
All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey

4. What special memory do you have of Christmas morning, as a parent?
My daughter’s first Christmas. I’ll never forget how wide her eyes were when she saw       all the stuff Santa brought her! And the answer to the next one…

5. What was your favorite Christmas gift?
Too many favorites, but the sweetest gift I ever received was from my step-son not too
long after my husband and I married. He was about 8 or 9 years old and overheard
me saying that all I wanted for Christmas was groceries! (We didn’t have a lot of
money then and Christmas plus all the birthdays drained us.) My step-son saved up all
his money and bought me a $5 Kroger gift card. It was so touching that I still tear up
     thinking about it!

6. At what age did you realize that Santa was not real?

7. How long do you stay awake Christmas Eve setting everything up for the kids?
     I don’t. Santa does that!

8. What traditions have you and your spouse made for your marriage on Christmas Eve        or Christmas Day?
We go to my mom and dad’s house on Christmas Eve for dinner and presents. On
Christmas morning we get up early, have cinnamon rolls for breakfast, then open our
presents. We then go to my grandfather’s house for lunch and to visit with the whole

9. Are you a all year Christmas shopper or a last minute shopper?
Not all year, but I do start the day after Thanksgiving and usually still shop at the last

10. What is the hardest thing you have ever had to put together for your kids to enjoy
       once they woke up?
Anything that has 8 million screws and 2 batteries.

My nominees are:

Light Motiffs II

Praying for Eyebrowz

A Jeanne in the Kitchen

Have fun answering the questions! I look forward to reading them, if you choose to participate

  1. Hmm… isn’t Thanksgiving around the end of November? I made a resolution to finish (!) my Christmas shopping by the end of November this year, after a few years of stressful shopping experiences around the 23rd of December. To my surprise, I actually managed to buy most of the gifts within the time limit and it was SUCH a relief.
    I mean, Santa did. 😀

      1. I can now confirm that it truly is awesome! It’s the 22nd of December now and I can relax, having NOTHING to do! Ha! Well, except for having to bake 2 cakes on Monday, those can’t be done in advance. But overall… The luxury of not stressing out 2 days before Christmas is priceless, I’ve not experienced it since childhood Christmases 😀

  2. I think I heard that one year my brother asked for a rocket. I don’t think he got it though 😄
Santa***** is really good with getting me and my siblings unexpected gifts. I’m the easiest to shop for probably.

  3. #6…LOL 🙂 That’s so cute! I remember the local fire department near my Grandma’s house used to drive their firetruck around the neighborhoods at 5:00am with a guy dressed as santa sitting on top and calling out on the loudspeaker with music and shouting “ho, ho ho!” As a child, that was evidence to me and you could hardly convince me otherwise 🙂
