Weekend Happenings

Happy Monday!

It was so cold this weekend! Saturday was in the 40’s but with the wind blowing it felt like it was mid 30’s. Saturday night the temperatures dropped down into the lower 20’s. That is crazy for us here this time of year! It’s normally in the 50’s or lower 60’s. I found Christmas pictures from a couple of years ago and we are all standing outside in t-shirts! Maybe this year we will actually have a white Christmas.

Saturday I was in a craft show. It went really well. I was so nervous since it was my first show. I kept waking up throughout the night thinking I had overslept. So during the show I was so tired! I was surprised at the turnout – there were quite a lot of shoppers. I actually did better than I thought I was going to.

There was a lady and her husband at the table beside of me who were super sweet. She had made beautiful Christmas wreathes and centerpieces. She also had packages of snowman soup. It is a little bag of hot chocolate, marshmallows and a candy cane. The note attached says:

Snowman Soup

Was told you’ve been
good this year
Always glad to hear it!
With the freezing weather near,
You’ll need to warm the spirit.

So here’s a little Snowman Soup,
Complete with stirring stick!
Add hot water, sip it slow…
It’s sure to do the trick!

I thought that was so cute! She also had dog bones, lip balm, candy, and reindeer food. She was so creative!

There were a lot of crafters there as well as a few Direct Sells companies like Scentsy, Pampered Chef, and a few others. There was a bake sale with lots of cookies and cakes and the ladies from the church prepared food for breakfast and lunch. They even had a wrapping station in the corner in case you bought gifts and wanted them wrapped! They really thought of everything.

I’m glad that I did the show. It is way out of my comfort zone to do something like that.

Now I need to get to work updating my Etsy shop for Christmas gifts!

And go to the grocery store.

And do homeschool.

And clean the house.

And do laundry.

And the list goes on and on…

A woman’s work is never done! 😀

Have a blessed day!!!

  1. I’m glad you had a good experience at the craft sale Michelle. I do a few shows each year – one this weekend. It is also out of my comfort zone (every time I do it) but always seems to be a good experience.

  2. It was freezing here all weekend and it still is. It snowed all day Sunday and it is snowing again this morning. I just finished shoveling the driveway & sidewalk. Knowing Colorado though, it will be sunny again real soon and all the snow will be gone quick. Cool craft show! Our daughter loves to sew and she loves arts and crafts! God bless!

  3. It’s getting below freezing here, and yesterday morning I went out to check on my chickens, and they were all acting crazy. I saw that they didn’t have any water, but then I looked closer and noticed that they did have water, but it turned to ice! Where has our fall gone? Now my chickens are slipping on the ice and eating frost.
The craft show looks super exciting 😛 Great job!

  4. I am so glad your craft sale went well 🙂 What a fun experience! It is always nice to meet other people who enjoy crafting and it is good you had a fun crafting neighbor at your exhibit. Your table looks very professional!
